Saunders Hotel Group Gets “Suite” New Hiring Software

Saunders Hotel Group

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) September 26, 2012

Saunders Hotel Group – one of the first independent management companies in the US, and PeopleMatter – the only comprehensive talent management solution designed to meet the needs of the service industry, today announced that PeopleMatter will automate and optimize Saunders’ hiring practices. Replacing paper processes in all six properties owned by Saunders Hotel Group, PeopleMatter HIRE™ supports Lenox Hotel, Comfort Inn & Suites Logan Airport, The Boston Common Hotel & Conference Center, The Hawthorn Suites Alexandria, The Hampton Inn Boston/Norwood, and The Premiere Hotel and Suites.

A third-generation, family-owned and operated hotel management business, Saunders’ daily life and mission are rooted in its people and communities. The World Travel & Tourism Council recently awarded Saunders Hotel Group the 2012 Community Benefit Award for being a leader in sustainable tourism practices. With every decision, Saunders weighs the value creation for investors, outstanding service to guests and job satisfaction for team members.

“At Saunders, we believe in having a culture of excellence. Achieving best-in-class customer service requires cutting-edge employee recruitment, training and retention,” said Erin Crowell, Director of HR for Saunders Hotel Group. “We believe PeopleMatter’s software offers the most innovative and effective solution for our hiring process.”

Saunders Hotel Group previously operated on manual, paper practices. HIRE’s online applicant tracking system organizes applicants, candidates and new hires by taking paperwork out of the picture. The integrated software consolidates and automates hiring processes — including applicant tracking, step-by-step onboarding, background checks, tax credits and I-9s — into one, easy-to-use system. Full E-Verify integration enables Saunders’ managers to instantly screen employees through federal databases without ever leaving the HIRE system. The online application process saves managers’ time by simplifying the applicant experience, reducing abandonment rates and ensuring compliance.

“We selected PeopleMatter because we were looking for a one-stop shop,” said Crowell. “Everything in the industry is being automated. PeopleMatter streamlines our application process, captures tax credits more efficiently and ensures compliance with E-Verify.”

“With more than 60 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Saunders Hotel Group is highly respected in the industry and award-winning for their green conservation,” said Nate DaPore, PeopleMatter President and CEO. “Together, we will continue to extend their legacy of excellence in the service industry.”

Question by reluctant: Is a nonrefundable federal tax credit applicable to FICA taxes levied on a self-employed individual?
More specifically, can a “saver’s tax credit” be applied, or is this tax credit restricted to reducing a federal income tax bill? I’ve been looking all over for an answer to this question, but it’s not obvious where to find it.
There are so many good answers. Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, but non-refundable credits can only be used to reduce your income tax liability. Other taxes such as self employment tax, household employment taxes, etc. are not reduced by non-refundable credits.

Nearly 100 Michigan Works! members learned about the Recovery Act/Trade Adjustment Assistance Act (TAA) at a joint workshop hosted May 25 by Michigan Works! Association and the Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth Bureau of Workforce Transformation.
TAA provides funding for states to assist workers who lose their jobs due to outsourcing and foreign trade. The training covered the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC), field review and monitoring visits, training waivers, training policies and trade readjustment allowances.
In addition to learning about policy developments, attendees shared challenges, improvements and best practices from around the state.
Two additional workshops will provide ongoing TAA training for staff at the 2010 Michigan Works! for People Conference, Sept. 19-22 in Traverse City, Mich (register at www.michiganworksconference.org).

Question by : Filing Tax for “Making Work Pay Credit” and “Credit For Federal Tax on Fuels?
What is “Making Work Pay Credit” and “Credit For Federal Tax on Fuels”? Can head of household file it in California? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Bostonian In MO
Everyone with earned income who is not a dependent qualifies for the MWP credit. It’s 6.2% of your earned income, capped at $ 400 per taxpayer. See Schedule M.

The Credit for Federal Tax on Fuels is for certain non-taxable business use of taxable motor fuels. Examples would include farm use of motor fuels, commercial fishing, stationary engines, etc. See Form 4136 and its instructions for more information.

Filing as Head of Household has nothing to do with what state you live in.
